I have a date tonight.
I am trying not to freak out.
I haven’t had a date in a couple months now. And surprisingly, I really really like this guy. Like, more than the dumb dating website creepos.
We met at the local dog park I take Zoe to. He has two shepherd mixes that are adorable (and smitten with Zoe).
We’re going to this local pub-burger-type place. Supposedly famous for excellent food, though I’ve never been there.
Unfortunately, it’s a Pepsi place, but we’ll survive. We had a long conversation about how Coke is better. Glad he agrees on that important detail.
Anyway, I’ll update you guys if I can. I also have a doctor’s appt tomorrow morning, so there may be a bit of a delay.

You are so lovely to say that. So far we’ve talked on the phone loads, so I’m pretty sure he’s a good guy. I can’t imagine his phone/dog park presence is so drastically difference from his date presence.
Hmm well he likes dogs so that’s good. But I can’t understand preferring coke over Pepsi… that just doesn’t compute in my brain…

Aw. Well, I hope you find something nice to do at your sisters. I spent a portion of the week at my mother’s due to my health, and we ended up watching dumb movies. It was fun.
Sadly, now I’m looking forward to it. One of the roofers stepped through the roof and left detritus spread over 3 flights of stairs and 3 flat floors. Their still here making a terrible racket. The cat just spewed Amityville Horror style quite close to my feet. And I’m hot. GRRRR

Awwwwwww!! Is it terrible that I get all super flattered when friends say they want to grill my possible dates/partners?? I get all warm, glowy, and feeling super-cared for.
Haha. At least one ain’t bad. He also loves Halloween, so that’s a plus. And Zoe liked him (at least at the dog park; she’s sometimes more gruffy in her own territory).

I met my husband when he came of a 4×4 trip I was leading and he had a dog and I had a dog that looked like each other. That was in 94 and we now have four dogs and many that have passed through our lives and made them so much happier. I hope it went well and you had a good time!
What a great way to meet!! Dogs are such an awesome socializing “tool” (I mean that lovingly, of course).
