Only 40% of me is a raging alcoholic…

This moment- right now– is why booze is not kept at work.  This moment.

Even though I so badly need it.

I’m so done with needy, crazy clients (not my kind of crazy, more the sociopathic/psychopathic/fear for my well-being kind) who make my bosses act like bitches/assholes towards me because they think it’s my fault I can’t get a complete file to them.

No, it’s that the client needs an advocate to help them because they have such issues that they cannot even find me a simple financial document without FLIPPING THEIR SHIT.

Do you want free money to keep your house?

No, apparently you just want to threaten me.  Fantastic.

I’m done.

Tonight is me getting drunk.

I had this boss at a newspaper I used to write for….she scared the shit out of me. She was one of the toughest people I’ve ever worked for, but, you know, tough in that “I respect you so much you terrify me” kind of way. One night I was working late after a meeting and she stopped by at about 11 p.m. with a 6-pack of beer. Told me it was time for a break. I asked her if it was a trap. Nope – not a trap. She just knew I’d been working all night and wanted to chat with me a little. We had a great night, although I ended up working until 2 a.m.

My mentor, who isn’t technically above me as a boss, but sort of up and to the side is the type who would do that. She terrified me when I first came to work at this company, but she’s taught me so much. She is truly someone I admire. But she also understands when shit isn’t my fault. I wish constantly that I worked directly under her.
She gave me free tickets to a comedy club. That’s sort of like a 6 pack of beer.

It’s already looking better today. I have lovely plans with my friend Texas and work is more relaxed (and I work only a half-day on Fridays!)

Thank you for your thoughts. Hope you are doing well ❤

Hm…I don’t normally do the whole award post thing (though I am ALWAYS flattered to be nominated), but I think today I feel like doing it.

I’ll get right on it 😉

      Much thanks!

I’m so sorry. I’m sorry to say that I can relate to awful clients and bosses blaming me for it. I love the poster! It is great and hilarious.

Good and healing thoughts to you.

I would love to have that poster at home actually, haha.

Yeah, the corporate world is a messy place. Today is better, thankfully.
